Reducing Risk with Readiness
Because PHT has more global experience than any other ePRO provider, we are able to make precise recommendations on the type of hardware to deploy in varied locations around the world. Telecommunications can still be challenging, however, as infrastructure can vary greatly by region within certain countries. We leverage expert global wireless and analog telecom partners to ensure reliable performance, but in some cases specific site-based testing prior to the trial is the best approach for sponsors wanting to closely manage risk. PHT's Site Telecom Assessments can provide an extra level of confidence to both the site and sponsor that our ePRO solution will work efficiently and effectively throughout the duration of the trial.
Preparing Sites for Success
PHT uses a special Telecommunications LogPad which is pre-configured to continually send data until a problem or interruption occurs. Local CRAs conduct on-site testing while PHT's Study Support Center answers questions about the process. PHT engineers then analyze the results and deliver a detailed report on the performance levels of all sites surveyed, including risk assessments based on actual and expected transmissions from each site. PHT then makes actionable recommendations on the best hardware to deploy, thereby mitigating risk, setting appropriate expectations and ensuring consistently reliable data transmissions from sites around the world.
When to Assess
PHT has implemented studies all over the world - but occasionally a sponsor will have a site in a new country or region within a country, or in a geography, where there have been changes in the telecommunication infrastructure. Further, study teams trying to decide between analog and wireless Palm devices and SimpleSend transmission options, wireless devices and/or SimpleSend transmission options may use advance testing to provide more data to support these choices. PHT's assessment services may also be beneficial for studies with rapid enrollment timelines in order to reduce risk of unexpected occurrences. This minimizes the chance that sites will have any issues assigning LogPads to patients.
